I had a home owner call me about this type of installation. He pulled a home owner permit for renovations and put this type of back feed situation in. The inspector failed him because he said that there must be a mechanical interlock between the gen breaker and main. I explained the seriousness of this installtion as well as liability. Most people do not understand anything about the dangers. Is this interlock rule in the nec? It may be I, just can't find it if not it should be. As far as the ebay guy, if this type of installation is illegal no amount of warning other than the interlock would relieve him of at least some liability. The interlock would render the dryer rec unusable.

Also, there is 406.6(B) telling us that you can't energize a receptacle by attaching an energized plug.

Long time follower, first time posting, How about sending the 'warning statement' to each purchaser?
The buyers can be contacted via e-mail through e-bay.

I just sent an e-mail to the code enforcement department of the city where he lives. The code enforcement department is run by the county sheriff department. Maybe they will talk to this guy.

Lets hope this is taken care of.

On a side note. Johnny Damon ,late of the Red Sox, recently signed with the Evil Empire, known as the New York Yankees.

Previous to this transaction JD said publicly many times he could never play for the Yankees.

Soon after the announcement which sent shockwaves through Red Sox Nation someone had listed on Ebay "Johnny Damons Soul" up for sale. This was quickly removed from the site. :roll:

Well whadaya know!

"The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale."

I wonder if he will re-list. I know I'll be keeping tabs.

Sad part is that what he did is legal.One can offer advice even if wrong and dangerious.E bays response does make me thing twice about using them :mad:

Enter generator cords in your searvh box.you`ll be surprised just how many of these cords are offered as plans to build snd premade.I was astonished to find this out.

I tried it, all the cords I found where legal male to female generator cords.
