Art.514.8 exception NO.2. Does this mean the conduit needs to be under 2ft. of cover for the entire run even if the conduit is out of the class 1 area and under a building slab?

As I read 514.8 the 2 foot cover must be maintained while under the fuel dispensing area. This is to prevent fuel that is spilled from seeping into the ground and migrating into the conduit. Ex.No.2 does not mention anything about conduit depth beyond the Class 1 boundery. Once beyond the boundery I would keep the conduit at 2 feet until the stub up with RMC and seals just to CYA. This is something that your AHJ would have to make the call on as it is open to interpretation. Call your local AHJ and ask them.
