could someone help me locate information on cmuc cable for under carpet wiring. I believe it used to be in 725.61(E)(6) but I cannot find it in the 2023 code book.
Thanks for your assistance

I don't have the book in front of me but aren't CMUC cables in Article 800?

I had to look for it but it is mentioned in 725.154 and 725.135(K), (L), and (M) (6)

I'm not familiar with it.

I installed miles of UCC's in the 80's both power and communications. I'm surprised that anyone still uses it.

thanks for your time, In the 2023 nec, the only reference I found was in table 722.179(B)

Roger,
I can't find 725.154 or 725.135 in 2023
I know many codes ago it was 725.61(E)(6) but that also has been removed

What's the actual question regarding these cables? Look at 800.113, 800.179(G), Table 800.154(a),(b),(c).

the actual question was
what type of class 2 or 3 cables are permitted to be run under a carpet?

they gave 3 options if I remember correctly, they were
CL3P
CL2P-PL
CMUC
and one other

fantastic thanks, I just went straight to 725 since it was referencing class 2 and 3, but thanks for your time and assistance
