Do they even make plugmold with #14 wire in it?
Are you saying that all PlugMold is wired with #12?

Would it matter?
Why woudn't it? Isn't the wire inside the PlugMold part of the permanent wiring of the premises, and thus would have to be #12 on a 20a circuit? Not the receptacles, but the wire?

I have no idea. I don't have a paper wiremold catalog, and checking a pdf is out of the question as my internet activities right now are strictly recreational. Looking for wiremold specs online is not going to happen. :D

I do not believe the NEC applies to the factory wiring inside plug mold any more then it applies to the wiring inside a range, lamp or DW.

Keep in mind that even the NEC rates 14 AWG at 20 amps.

The change in cabinet height over the countertops was instituted due to the european kitchens being installed, they typically have 20 inch heights from countertop, american cabinets were typically 18 inches.
The proposal for the 2002 NEC was from a Montana interior designer. She did not want the plug strip to show, it was installed under the top cabinet on the lower lip, making it just above 18". But perhaps she was installing European cabinets.

I have installed them before with 1' spacing between receptacles and hated it. It was over a tile backsplash and I ended up cracking one of the tiles when snapping on the plug mold cover. PITA installation in my opinion.

Traditional cabinets have an 18" space between the countertop and the bottom of the wall cabinets.

That is a darn good point.

I do not know if you can get TR plugmold yet.

No time to read all the replies so if it was already answered sorry...they do make TR plugmold. I have some and will install soon. It's just 2000 series wiremold with decora TR receptacles.
