Underground Depth Requirements

I am curious as to how far underground an electrical conduit pipe must be placed? Also know that the wires running through it are 440 volts. They are being run through PVC electrical conduit. If anyone could please assist in this question, I would very much appreciate it. This is being done in the state of PA. I don't know if that matters or not; or if the codes are standard nationwide.
