I have to splice 3 1/0 conductors, running undergound in 2" PVC conduit. Need a junction/splice box. Any suggestions for manufacturer, model etc?

Has anybody used Thomas&Betts Long Barrel Copper Connectors with lead-free solder instead of crimping them?

Re: Underground Splice

Any box listed for outdoor use will suffice. Remember 314.29 requires the box to be accessible and it cannot be buried.

Re: Underground Splice

My preference has always been to use the Quazite fiber cement boxes. I think that they're becoming pretty standard for outdoor in ground splice boxes.

Never used the splicers you speak of. My preference is to just use regular H-taps or preinsulated set-screw pedestal bugs for this application.
