Hi Guys. Just wanted to see if anyone had input on sizing battery conductors. I typically size them per standard NEC rules but consistently see them undersized. For instance: 2000amp breaker, four sets of 500mcm (4+, 4-) in EMT. Is there something hiding in the code that I'm missing?

Thanks for the input.

480.4 covers protection of conductors from batteries under 50V.
The seemingly undersized conductors may be part of; listed, labelled, or approved for the application equipment/materials.

No real help, I know.
