Does a plug-in UPS require a separate grounding electrode conductor? If not, is there a size or configuration limit where this requirement is in effect?

What does the manufacturer say? Usually, if the UPS is factory equipped with a supply cord, then it won't need a separate EGC (or GEC, either). Some larger UPSs will come with a cord & plug, but the installation instructions will also call for that EGC. I'm thinking about units bigger than 5-6kw here.
