Good morning/afternoon.
A concern of the UPS location with regards to the switchgear equipment, as the UPS cabinets are normally located within the electrical substation themselves and the only maintenance access is provided through the substation, the question asked, was should a flash over occur from one of the electrical equipment in the substation, would there be a major affect on the UPS cabinet. Properly yes, and in this case, the UPS will loose one of its major functions as back up power supply to some sensitive equipment. Could someone please advice if a firewall between the UPS cabinets and the switchgear equipment is a required or justifiable between them?
