UPS Unit Clearances

We have a 50kVA UPS unit that has a clearance box around it at 24". This unit does have a breaker distribution section. Is the 24" clearance acceptable?

Does the UPS require working while energized?

The unit is energized for a normal monthly PM, but is in bypass mode.

Then the question is...Can you perform maintenance safely with the clearance?
