I know that the interior panel main breaker can be over sized but the upstream breaker must be the proper size and have the coorect feeder cable. Where is it at in the code as to the upstream breaker being the correct size. for the interior panel for protection.

Could you be thinking 408.36 for panel protection and also 240 for the feeder.
