Right. That's why I like those tags. Tie the string around the black and white and note "240" on the tag. Same for MWBCs.

The problem with a string and tag is the tag won't let you put the NM cable back in the connector, or easily any way.

These are little tags, maybe 1x1". You can squish them up and get them through.

Tape can be a PITA to take off. But it is another method.
You're talking about a Tyvek tag? I have them but they are too big and expensive for a half hours' worth of time. Tyvek is good for outdoor and permanent use. The ones I use are paper and come from Staples.

You cut the string with dykes when done. You do have to be careful that the string doesn't slip off the conductors while you work with them but just tie it tight.

I used to use the string tags, but it turned into a tangled mess. I use blue painters tape now, and mark any pertinent information on it.
Up sizing conductors is common like others listed to accommodate for voltage drop. When I did that I would P touch panel door to warn not to increase the 15 amp circuit breaker. The large hospital / research center made two great rules: no shared neutrals and wires from the over 50 84 circuit 120/208 normal & emergency power panels in a new 12 story building had to have #10 THWN copper wire to first JB for every 20 amp on breakers that feed mostly duplex receptacles.
