It is called labor saving devices, in commercial over suspended ceiling how do you support? Nice idea but a lot of violations. And under carpet and pad be real good test for arc-fault breakers, who would suspect wire under the carpet?

I don't think there are saying its ok to do this with romex or a 20 amp. circuit a Cert. electrician would no better.There are low voltage cables and comunication cables you could safely do this with.

You have to apply a little common sense.

I was suggesting a DIY on his own home sells the home but service needs upgrade, so then a qualified electrician comes in and upgrades service and problems with a circuit. It shouldn't even give an impression it could be done.
