Using 30A GFCI Breaker backfed as main breaker for small panelboard

Hello, I have a 4 spot main lug only panelboard that does not have a main breaker slot and I want to use a 30A GFCI breaker (Murray/Siemens) as the main panelboard breaker. I know I can backfeed a regular 30A breaker to use as a main breaker per NEC, so can I do the same thing with a 30A GFCI breaker?

If it's OK to use a panel with a main breaker which is non-GFCI what's the problem with using the main lug panel with a regular two pole 30 backfed? Why the GFCI??
