As I understand it this is a(packaged) hot tub. Would that also need the same bonding as a in ground Pool ?

E) Methods of Bonding. All metal parts associated with the spa or hot tub shall be bonded by any of the following methods:
(1) The interconnection of threaded metal piping and fittings
(2) Metal-to-metal mounting on a common frame or base
(3) The provisions of a copper bonding jumper, insulated, covered, or bare, not smaller than 8 AWG solid.
(F) Grounding. The following equipment shall be grounded:
(1) All electric equipment located within 1.5 m (5 ft) of the inside wall of the spa or hot tub
(2) All electric equipment associated with the circulating system of the spa or hot tub

From a mike holt newsletter , are we at an other than a one family dwelling

An electrician told me that I could not use nonmetallic sheath cable to wire a hot tub at my home. But the salesman at Home Depot said that I should use 6/2 NM cable. Could you please clarify this for me?
. If the hot tub is located indoors, then NM cable can be use as the wiring method [680.43]. However, if the hot tub is located outdoors of a one-family dwelling, then NM cable can be for the indoor portion [680.42(C)]. Outdoors, the most practical wiring method will be rigid nonmetallic conduit and liquid-tight flexible conduit [680.42 and 680.42(A)].
 
Bottom line NM can be used on the interior of one family dwelling even if the hot tub is outside
 
I've used it myself. My point was the HD salesperson being considered an expert.

If we are able, we will run conduit, if we have to fish across finished areas, romex.
 
I try not to judge people for where they work,..He also did not refer to him as any thing more than a salesperson and by the way he was the one who was correct in this instance ,..and not the "electrician".
