Using AC Panel as disconnect for MOV

Hi,

Per NEC, is panel board permitted to be used as Disconnect means for motor operated valve(actuator) when located within site of the said MOV? Typically, in industrial settings, I haven't seen a dedicated local disconnect switch for motor actuators or MOVs for water distribution/control electrical equipment.

I'm not familiar with the exact requirements for a disconnect for MOV, but in general a circuit breaker can be used as the disconnecting means if it meets the requirements. Some are required to be lockable, but with most presently produced brands this can be done with a device installed on the breaker.
