I knew it!

I know how it is because I do both residential and commercial all the time. I am a electrical contractor so I do everything I can make money on.

I had a call afew years ago where a female cat had peed into a receptacle. Aside from the smell , awful , the receptacle had been back stabbed in and out the urine had made the insides of the device fail inturn making afew rooms go dead.

I guess we need a new requirement for 2011. "Corrosion resistant receptacles shall be required in all dwelling units"

This is one of the more wandering threads I have ever seen, as far as the distance of one subject from another. From receptacle UL listing to feline potty training in just 11 posts. It's like those words games I used to play...Let's see if we can change "Back Stabbing" to "House Fire" in just 6 moves.

We just had the recept. discussion in class and I was informed that recepts were only listed for power in and one power out. With this research I will have to double check.

Not so... see the first bullet point of post #5, which refers to "back-wire" pressure plate style receps, which have four holes.

I should have gone back and looked at that original UL link (thanks again Charlie) more closely. Here it is in black and white stating that it is OK:

I misread it the first time myself , they have in fact been investigated for such use. I am very reluctant to use them at all but there it is in black and white as you have said.
