Could someone figure the running cost of a AC condensor please. This is the info I have. Amp draw-6.7A, Voltage 240V AC single phase, run time 24/7 for a 30 day period. The utility rate is .0943c/ KWH. I have a customer who insists that this consumption will not result in an additional $110.00 per month on their utility bill, I disagree. Thanks much.

Amp Draw (6.7A) * 240V = 1,608 Watts
1,608 Watts / 1000 Watts/kW = 1.608 kW
1.608 kW * 24 hrs/Day = 38.592 kWh
38.592 kWh * 30 Days/Month = 1,157.76 kWh
1,157.76kWh * $0.0943/kWh = $109.18

The problem with this calculation is you don't know if the compressor will be running 24/7, or do you?

6.7amps x 240 volts = 1608 va/1000 = 1.608 kva
1.608 x 24hrs x 30 days = 1157.8 kva hrs
if you assume a Pf of 0.90 then you have 1157.8 x 0.9 = 1042 kwh
1042 kwh x 0.943 = $98.26
1158.8 kva hrs x 0.943 = $110.00 but you are not billed for kva hrs. Billed for KW hrs.

Bob gets the cookie for including power factor.
But the added $$ is probably other stuff, i.e. was the condenser running without the blower running? Doubtful, but then again, the bill would have likely been a lot higher if it was running 24/7 as well.
