My diesel pick up truck i typically get anywhere from 11 to 18 on the road but if run empty it expected to get hit at least 20 or so.

The two tonner IHC truck typcially get about 8 to 12 depending on the load { this truck I genrally don't bother reading in MPG.,, I go by gallons per hour (GPH) typicall burn about 6 to 8 GPH expect the PTO mode it will really varies from .5 GPH to about 15 GPH ( running PTO generator )}

for the oil change the pick up typically change about 4500 miles in summer time but winter time bump it down a little to about 3500 miles

the two tonner useally every 10K miles or 250 PTO hours wichever it hit first.

Merci,Marc

Me too 2007 2500 sprinter w/ deisel motor I average 19 if I dont step on it all the time. Your not gonna fly off the blocks with it but at almost 10 1/2 feet tall you really dont want to. Oh and it takes 14 quarts of oil so oil change average 140-170 bucks. This acually reminds me of another question I had. The manual says change the oil every 5000 miles, the dealer tells me cause it is New Jersey I need to change it every 3000 miles, and recently A manager at meineke told me he sevices a fleet of spinters for a certain satelite company and they change their oil every 10000 miles. What is the correct milage?

I routinely go 15,000 miles with Mobil 1, Never had a problem!

IMO 3,000 and 5,000 oil changels are a total waste of oil and a consumer ripoff
Change the oil filter at 5,000 or 7,500 if you want to feel better, the oil is still good

Dealer told me to change my oil in my sprinter every 10K. So did my mechanic.

I get about 16 mpg mixed driving. I rolling about 9200 lbs and have racks and ladders, fwiw.

i used 1 ton chevy vans--the gas powered with 350 gas engines averaged 8 to 10 mpg--now, i carry a heavy load! when i shifted to diesel power the trucks got 16 mpg empty or fully loaded. Yes diesel fuel costs more but when you double the milage it pays !!

Ford E250. Its easy to drive. Carries what I need. Gets one transmission change every 85,000 miles. Never could get the front end tires to not run on the inside. Change the oil every 3500 miles cause it lasts for ever if you do.
Never had an accident and its what people expect to pull up in their drive for service work.

MPG ... a whopping 12 city 16 hwy.

If your pricing overhead on this I know a plumber that has two 3500 GMC box vans that look like moving bill boards. Maintenance is minimal. He laughs every time he fills up. When they are moving down the road or in someones drive its a HUGE in your face advertisement, AND its not in the yellow pages costing 5 grand a month. He said there is an illuminated panel you can have installed on your van that lights up with your sign on it. If your looking for branding think about getting something hugemongous and wrapped.

If your worried about a tank of gas, expect to retire insolvent, homeless, & sickly. I do.

I cant stand (literally) working hunched over all the time. doing the knuckle shuffle everytime I get in the van. But on the other side of it, When I am ready to buy another truck for my frist crew I dont think It will be another sprinter. The minute I see cigarete butts and sunflower seeds on the deck and its not stocked properly and smells like s hitte I will get very annoyed. I think if guys expect to take their trucks home they need to keep it clean like it was their own.

I wouldnt say that I worrie about a tank of gas but always look for ways to decrease my overhead. What is the benifit of working out of a pick up truck? isnt it a pain in the arse?

Man can I relate to that. There ain't nothing makes me angryer then someone not respecting my property.

I really take care of my truck. It cost me alot of money and I get alot of compliments from people on it. There were several times people ask if they can look inside or even step in. Usually their first comment is how organized it is.............. Is it possible for a man to really love his truck? I think i do. It gets mad at me if its wheels get to dirty. ....... what do you call "truck" love?....
