We are looking for software that is hopefully unique to the electrical construction industry that would allow us to build a database of wholesale houses, suppliers, vendors, subcontractors, testing companies, equipment rental yards, etc., properly categorize them, update as necessary and allow us to solicit pricing when we are bidding jobs. Ideally, it would allow us to upload applicable specs and drawings for the bidders use.

I have not seen anything on the internet that is applicable to EC's. Most software applications of this nature on the internet are for GC use with subcontractors. Any recommendations?

We use Accubid for estimating and they don't have an add-on for this application.

Any recommendations?

I would caution that responses to this query should take heed to the OP asking about submitting to multiple suppliers - responses tailored to a specific supply house or similar will have to be deleted as advertising.

I don't know of anything specific, but you could possibly make an excel spreadsheet for this, creating new sheets within it for various categories.

The software we use for take-off's allows you to create a database of suppliers and categorize them. I would've assumed accubid has something similar? For supplier pricing we have netpricer integrated into that, but you can also generate RFQ's with a material list to email/fax. I trust netpricer most of the time but if the cost is going around or above 6-figures I'll usually have them quote me on the wire and devices to get a slightly better deal.

How extensive is your list of suppliers?

For sending them drawings/specs, I send a link to my OneDrive job folder for them to download.
