I'm wondering how to present a proposal to someone and correctly word it so that they realize that material prices are going up and todays quote may increase in the coming weeks. Except for giving them an in depth material list which can compare current to future prices (and researched, scrutinized, and questioned), how might it get worded to not divulge such info.
Any thoughts?
Thank you

Price subject to change?
Or
Price is valid until date xxxx, materials acquired after said date will be additional cost.

should say something like that in your contract that a lawyer drew up

I send out quite a few requests for quotes. All vendors have some sort of statement similar to what AC/DC said.
Short, sweet, succinct. Usually in bold big letters at bottom of page.
Just yesterday I got an email where vendor had added it to email signature, "price and lead-times..."

I used to get quotes from my SH that said "This quote is good for 30 days". Now I get some that say "24 hours". I've been giving quotes, actually estimates, that say "due to the ever increasing cost of materials, and other factors, price could be higher". I tell them that if I can get their approval and can get the material from a guaranteed price quote, then I can give a more accurate quote. But it would have to be done almost immediately.
So, in short, give an estimate with the clause stating the price could be higher due to material price increase.
