Forgive me if this is a silly newb question but I am just getting into this whole residential electricity stuff. So far I have been able to track down with an EMF meter and clamp on ammeter
1. A miss-wired dryer
2. A 3 prong 220 dryer hookup where the electrician used a bare wire as neutral
3. Electrified plumbing
4. a N-G short at a skylight control box
Well, out of curiosity and through the process of testing things, because I love meters, I discovered that the metal frame mirror in bathroom 1, and the metal towel rack in bathroom 2 both show 5v when connected to ground even when N-G on the bathroom outlets show 0.005v.
I have searched high and low for a simple answer that I can wrap my head around but haven't found one yet. Thanks in advance for the help!
<MM>
PS I am using a Klein Tools cl-110 Ammeter.
I think the reason for this question must be why I also see 2v when going from my non-grounded mini-toaster/crock pot casing to an outlet ground.
