Hello. So I have some equipment listed as 240V 3PH 60Hz 89A. My issue is getting that amperage to the equipment. Would something like a 480V 3PH line (50A) and a transformer (480V to 240V) to the machine work? Or would the machine need to be entirely retrofitted to 480V?

It is quite common in industrial settings to feed 480V to a location where lower voltage is needed, and then to step the voltage down to the local requirements.

But you need to have the necessary service capacity in the first place.

Your electrician should be able to determine the available service capacity, and then size an appropriate transformer for the load.
