Voltage drop distance calculation.

Hello,
I am doing some voltage drop calculations for a commercial design that i received, i have an small doubt, ¿how to you measure the distance to calculate your voltage drop in a drawing? i am not clear if it is for the potential diference betweent two points (source and load) or according to the length of the conductor that connect them, see next image to undestand better my point.

Think about it; how could the voltage drop in a conductor possibly be dependent upon the "as the crow flies" distance between the termination points?
