Voltage drop increase the current?

I think your supervisor may be getting confused because he may be thinking of service power transmission. i.e. increase the voltage in order to lower the current so you can transfer electricity over great distance with smaller wires and less loss. Thinking about it like that may make him mistakenly think that a voltage drop would increase the current.
