When calculating voltage drop on a motor, do you use the Full Load Current from tables 430.247 - 430.250 or do you use the nameplate rating for the amperage. I have several reasons to want to use the amprage from the table but would like some feedback. Thanks

I personally would use the tabulated values. That way when the motor is replaced in the future you won't have an issue with the possibility of a motor with a larger nameplate FLC.

If you are that close to the wind on voltage drop it will more then likely cuase grief. Use the tables but it is wise to allow for at lease one motor fame size increse if for inductrial location.

You might also consider the effect of voltage drop on startup. Depending upon motor design, startup current will be 5-10x FLA.
