It was flush mounted in an office wall.

I do recall they had stripped the 10s long and folded them up to make the large lugs hold onto them.
I've always said electrical work is one area you don't want to assume anything, as it will sooner or later give credence to the ass-out-of-you-and-me cliché.

I recall a time I got bit. Ran three 3Ø MWBC's in MC, assuming 208Y/120. Opened panel to discover it was 240/120V 3Ø 4W.

Years ago I was designing PV systems for 11 buildings, all of which were supplied by 480V 3P, or so I thought. I was doing site visits, looking at MDP's for interconnections, and at the 11th building I looked at the main AC disco on the MDP, saw it was rated at 480V. I designed the PV systems accordingly, and then much later found out that although that 11th disco was rated at 480V like all the rest, the building (and that one alone) was supplied with 208V 3P. Major redesign, much smaller PV system, angry customer... ouch.

Don't assume.
