I have a 275'underground direct burial run that I need to make. The load is going to be 30A@120V. Am I correct in figuring that I need to run #2AL in order to stay within the 5% guideline? If I terminate the run at a 120/240V 1phase panel then feed the 30A recep off that I will still need to figure the drop calc at 120V and not 240V, correct? Thanks much.
 
Assuming 30 FLA and aluminum conductors, I figured you are going to need at least a #2 wire which will put you around a 4.4% drop. Make sure you up-size the ground too!
