voltage label on outside of breaker cabinet?

I have received a number of comments from the employees at my facility saying, in effect, "the voltage should be labeled on the outside of the breaker panel". I am in California. Thinking it was an OSHA code, I looked there first, found references to exposed circuits, shut off switches, etc. Nothing specific saying that the 110 or 220 breaker panels inside the locked sub electric room, the local breaker panels inside an automotive shop, etc. need to have the voltage labeled on the OUTSIDE. I am now looking for any thing in the NEC that might require it. Reading the posts already here, I am sure someone can tell me if voltage labeling is required, or even recommended. I have no objections to doing so I just want to know what code, regulation I am complying with.
Thanks for any info you can provide

Re: voltage label on outside of breaker cabinet?

Lots of codes/standards say to place labels in certain places. However, very few of them actually dictate what the labels say.

Have you looked at NFPA70E?
