They're shaped like drywall screws, with the trumpet head, but they're thicker and much stronger. They're suitable for framing joinery. Decking screws are also an example.

OK gotcha. They seem much stronger than sheetrock screws. I would think a sheetrock screw 4 inches long would break before it went in all the way.
