I have a wall oven I need to install that has a 7.8 KW rating.
Cut sheet for the appliance states 50amp breaker and #8 Cu wire. NM #8 = 40 amp
Manufacturer specs listed on a different site just state 40 amp breaker @240V.
If I use the KW rating at 240V I come up with 32.5 A . Am I correct in saying a 40 amp breaker with 8/3 NM cable would be code compliant?
Not a huge deal but I’m running almost 100’ from the panel . The cost difference between 6/3 and 8/3 is enough to look into both options.
Thanks
