We are aware that a seal is required where a conduit leaves a hazardous area into a non hazardous area and that the seal may be installed on either side of the boundary depending on the installation under Section 501,502.505,etc. The hazardous area the conduit leaves is a Class 1 Division 2 area and enters an unclassified area. Our concern is the code compliant treatment of the hole that is prepared for the conduit to pass through the wall, basically the conduit leaving the hazardous area will more than likely be slightly smaller than the diameter of the hole. The wall we penetrate is an inside wall seven inches thick and constructed of drywall, FRP board, etc.
Are there code compliant issues?
Do we aplly a UL listed product available for sealing?
Do we need to contact the local AHJ ?

Technically this is not so much a Classified Locations issue than a general wiring issue. See Section 300.21. A specific evaluation of the entire Fire Rating system has to be made.
