You realize WHY people slow down at accident scenes, don't you?

For those who wonder why this may be an issue,

>>>WARNING: THIS IS NOT A PRETTY PICTURE.<<<

It is a photo of what can happen to your finger when a ring catches on something.

I am not posting it as an attatchment or inserted image because of the reason stated above. Click on the link only if you think you can stomach it.

Yes I do, but if I posted the image, it would get deleted, and for good reason. At least this way, you have a chance to see it, and you had been warned.

Some folks don't take to well to seeing the insides of the human body. To quote Radar O'Reily, "It makes me woozy."

My dad got his wedding ring caught on a nail on a post while he was on a garden tractor. It ripped him off the tracter and nearly tore his finger off. It was not a pretty sight!

I usually leave it on however sometimes if the job is REALLY hairy I will take it off until the dangerous part is over. I have probably taken it off a couple of dozen times total.

Yes. I sometimes take it off for golf and when doing something that may snag it or scuff it up, like working on my car.

But if I know I'm going to be digging around hot busses with my bare hands...wait, I don't do that.

Anyone have a titanium or tungsten ring?- After we bought my ring I was told that my ring couldn't be cut off if my finger were to swell up and need medical attention. So I take mine off whenever I play basketball, work with anything that could smash my hand, and if I do hurt that finger the first thing to come off is that ring. (Of course I might be overly conscious of my hands since the kitchen hood gave me 15 stitches in 2 fingers... the wife saw that and never says anything to me about no ring)

I have one. Haven't worn it daily since my honeymoon. Now I only wear it for what my wife calls WWF (Weddings, Wakes and Funerals).

Actually, my wife bought me a great watch that hangs from my belt loop and the numbers are upside down when it's hanging. I keep my wedding ring on the shackle of the watch. It's always with me, but this arrangement keeps my arms clear of watch and ring at the same time.

OSHA 1910.333(c)(8) "Conductive apparel." Conductive articles of jewelry and clothing (such a watch bands, bracelets, rings, key chains, necklaces, metalized aprons, cloth with conductive thread, or metal headgear) may not be worn if they might contact exposed energized parts. However, such articles may be worn if they are rendered nonconductive by covering, wrapping, or other insulating means.

I used to take my ring off every day and put it on a chain. One day I went home and could not find the ring. Never got another ring............until I got remarried.

Same thing happened with my first wife, I put her on a chain and when I got home I couldn't find her and never got another one.:D:D

Kidding been married to the same woman for almost 27 years now. I have a beautiful ring with two gold nuggets and three diamonds in it and I never wear it.

I had to take mine off in preparation for a surgical procedure once. The first thing I said when I woke up was can I have my ring back. My wife still considers that one of the sweetest things I have ever said. Other than on that occasion, I have never had it off in 27 years. But then, my work place does not include the shock, tripping, falling, and other hazards that many of you face every day. So here's to you, and stay safe.

I should add that I didn't choose a reply from the poll. You didn't include a choice for "N/A, I don't do electrical work.":D

I'm getting hitched in August, and have decided to go the tattoo route. My old lady says I have to have something that shows I'm "taken." ;)
