Welder duty cycle

How do you determine welders duty cycle?

Its on the welder nameplate. The less expensive the welder the lower the duty cycle. For exmaple the commom buzz box has a 20% duty cycle which means you can weld 2 minutes out of 10. A welder is a transformer, so the duty cycle protects the welder from burning up.
