After nearly 20 years as journeyman, foreman and sometime PM, I'm giving serious thought to going out on my own, but I don't know where to start regarding exam preparation classes etc. Any help is appreciated.

Ask your boss how to go out on your own.
I'm sure he'll have a lot of advise for you.
Check your states web page.
With your experience you should be able to pass it the first time with out studying, but take some scrap paper with you & write down the questions you have a hard time with & use them for a study guide.

Just hold tight a short while, when Pierre gets done with dinner I think he'll be able to set you on the right path. Westchester County oughta be right up his alley.
