Try this hire an electrician to help you.He has a far better idea on how to keep cost down than even an EE

Yeah, but does low cost always equal good design??? :(

How many times have I heard this in the field, and then it's come back to bite the client. It's a good idea, but not always practical, IMHO.

Jim don`t sweat it.If Florida was all that bad then there wouldn`t be the astronomical building boom that is on going. What a terrible place to live huh.70`s in Feb.fishing 365/year.No state or city taxes.miles and miles of beautiful beaches.Oh yeah the hurricane thing. The midwest has tornados that devistate 1000`s a year.Big cities in the north have crime rates off the scale.I`ll keep my little acerage in Florida and be happy.Oh yeah and never shovel a bit of snow......

I have installed panels 200 feet from electric room (that had plenty of room left) to feed equipment that was 50 feet away to start with.Sometimes you need to see the job before you can draw it.No the electrician is not always right but he at least sees what you cant.

Door Swing to Electrical Rooms

One of the things that often gets missed on plans is door swing and hardware for equipment rooms with equipment rated 1200 amps or more. The doors must swing out and have panic hardware.

Ryan,
Is the door swing and panic hardware requirement only for electrical rooms with 1200 amps or more in them? What if it does not have more than 1200 amps? Where is it stated in the code this requirement? Is in 2003 IBC? or 2003 IEC? Please e-mail me at ccalvano@integrus.net with the answer if you are aware of one. Thank you.

Charlie
