I been pondering this since I landed with a set of contract drawings.

I have some issues and various problems with the documents but most have been design statement Issues and silly drafting errors.

What are your top Five or Ten Code Issues that you will always seem to look up, check, and verify with every set of construction documents?

For example I had to get into Wall types and get some Mud ring sizes! Tried to understand the blanket Statement of ANSI 117.1! :)

Thanks in advance.

My issuse's with bidding testing for large jobs, is I get a full set of drawings, 250+ pages of specs, and no insight from the EC about what they want. They want me to plow through the drawings and specs, in lieu of just sending me the pertinenet information.

That is exactly what you would get from me. I do this on purpose to ensure that you are bidding the job, not just what I send you. I will often only send the electrical plans, but make sure you have access to the entire job set.

Are you estimating this job? If so, why are you worrying about mud rings and ANSI requirements?
As far as listing code issues, plans are full of issues. I don't spend a minute worrying about them unless they are huge that would swing my price. I that case I will bid "as drawn or spec'd", then qualify my bid and possibly an adder below the line to correct the code violation
