Can I put a gesture pad or a vibration sensor in the wall to turn on the "habitable room" light or switch?
Will this be allowed as a "manual override"?
I suspect they NEC section 210 means a manual, standard, unautomated switch. I'd really like to get rid of the physical switch and use presence detection and as a "manual override" to use tapping on the way or a gesture.
Thoughts? Or will this lead to an undesired debate over what manual during the electrical code inspection?
