What is this on the side of my rental house?

What about a light WITH a photo cell?
I can't see how it would be a PC to control another light unless the other light feed was inside the conduit. However, the conduit ends at a junction box and appears to go inside the house. Not in an attic, just inside whatever room that is where the JB is.

The JC box goes into the wall at a spare bedroom,

There's a retractable awning and I'm guessing it has to do with it but I don't know.

Why is it positioned exactly at the window with a rigid conduit to a JC!

I done a reverse search and 100 things came up. None of which looked exactly like it.
But it was put in the center of that window for a reason.

That’s why I kinda think it’s for light harvesting, maybe they put it on the outside for aesthetics? If it’s a light, I wouldn’t think it would have the correct coverage?

Why don't you just ask whoever you are renting the house from? You do have a right to know that it isn't a camera looking in the window.

Most of these rental houses are loaded with cameras so the owner or rental agent can see if the nice couple he rented to isn't having a keg party with 50 college kids. Happens all the time.

It looks like a flood lamp holder to me.
Agreed. I was able to get my hands on one of those bulbs ( I'd recognized it from a friend's bathroom) and look at it from below.

It is one of those bulbs, in a standard floodlight holder, pointed straight up.

Why is left as an exercise for the reader ...

Bingo! I think you got it Winnie. Certainly is a weird bulb. But why on earth someone went to the trouble of installing it over on the window with GRC is beyond me.
