Electrician - but not by NC Law.
I'm working through a shell reconstruction, core power to multiply areas in old multiply buildings. My can's are up not all terminated. 200 Amp wire 208/120 service all flex AL.

One of the areas was rented out, new GC, new electrician, first thing the GC does is rip the can down that wasn't terminated and relocated to new postion per EE's design. Someone repostioned the large flex to the newly postioned service. I say the GC did it cause the EC was not there first day, but I wasn't watching everything.

GC comes over to me and asks me to terminate it. I say, no you bought when you touched it. But he say's I was contracted to terminate, I said yes, per my postion, for the location that I placed it, yes!

Not that it matters to me now or any of my concern:
Needless to say, about 30 feet of flex is gone, I did ask where that went he said he throw it away, I say you just throw away 100.00.

The electricians are now already trim'n out there lights, they act like the new panel is foreign to them! I didn't personally talk to them about it! ( frankly think they want $ on it.)

My Boss and GC I'm under also concures...

What say ye ?

No, Jude actually makes sense when he's drinking.

I say he touched it he bought it. But this is for the powers that be to determine.

Saturday, Duke vs Miami. What say you?

I say who cares.

It's 10 minutes of work.

As far as the missing flex, it belonged to the owner. Let him worry about it.

If they run up and down the field, I'll say it'll be the 5 letter team.

If its low scoring and in the trenchs, I'll go with the 4 letter team.

I'll have to remeber to listen on the AM... :D ...

 Gezz, wait till the technical stories are told ...

Sounds to me like you put yourself in an awkward position. Now that both of your pride is involved it will be hard for one of you not to lose face to get the work done.

Maybe it would be a good idea to use this situation to introduce your company to a new GC and maybe get on their bid list. Eat a little crow, get this guy to see your side too and find a way you both can live with and that not only makes him like you but calls you for a bid on his next job.

Over the years I have picked up a great deal of work by letting the other guy be right on things that don?t mean anything and by being more reasonable than that other EC.

I still don't understand what the issue is. So sombody moved it. As long as they did it properly, finish your job.

If they just unbolted it, cut the conduit/wire short and re installed it, well...it aint rocket surgery.

If they did something seriously wrong, like use plumbing fittings or duct tape, I'd make an issue out of it.

I know you have heard it before but I will repeat it, Is this the hill you want to die on?If you were contracted to connect the shell panel and it was not connected does its location make a difference? Same panel, same amount of time same payment.I always remember never burn your bridges before you cross them this GC could be a source of future work.
