What is the size EMT I will need for a 200A service from the meter to the service cap and meter? Also, is an outside disconnect mandatory by code now?

What size conductors are you using and how many-- ie- single phase or 3 phase etc? Also insulation type would be helpful

not enough information to give you an answer. conduit size is determined by conductor size and you did not tell us what size conductors you are using. I am not real sure you can even use EMT.

The NEC would not require one. However, there may be local requirements that do, or the POCO may require one.

I agree.

Of course if one wishes to nit pick, there is that UL thing Mark Ode brought up about a PVC male adaptor into a threaded hub.
True and that was brought up at one install we did and I stated that there were thousands of these installs all over NC and we have never had a problem. I told him we would use caulk around it after the install and he was agreeable.

You had to bring up my biggest pet peeve in 30 years of this business.
