In reading on the Wild, Wild, web I ran across this from a major manufacture.

Be it a overview, I found it interesting and thought it was worthy to be thinking like a client for a moment.

Good points but maybe bad marks for what needs to be done. IE not always Code required, give it a whirl... Here

Copper Org. my favorite highly biased organization.

Do electrical switches or outlets feel warm or tingly?

Loose or deteriorating electrical connections, such as the wiring junctions in switches and outlets, impede current flow and create resistance. THis may create a dangerous condition that can result in shock or fire.

Tingly? :-? :D

Not to be confused with the fuzzy feeling you get from your teddys.

Jude, thanks for tossing that out there but these guys want you to get out there and sell their products.:-?

I didn't really get that impression. For instance, when I read:

Solid copper wiring is the material of choice for new homes or renovations. Although 14-gage wire is allowed for many circuits, it's smart to install heavier 12-gage wiring, which costs a little more but can handle more electrical current, making it safer and more energy-efficient.

I thought they were just passing along handy advice. ;)

But grounding also protects expensive electronic equipment like computers and many appliances. An electrician can quickly check and add grounding capacity if needed.

Add ground capacity?

Buckets of dirt...I always try to take one wherever I go in case I don't have a good ground connection.

Actually, the best portable ground is from pure Lake Michigan beach sand from the western shore. It is permeated with iron filings from East Chicago, Indiana (AKA Gary) and when wet has the lowest resistance of any sand or soil that can be had.

As a matter of fact, I sell portable ground in 5 gallon buckets made from the finest West Michigan beach sand on the market today. The sand is shipped dry in order to save on shipping costs.

Please remember to add water as directed.

If you don't have any, a friend of mine down the road sells water from the same area as the sand is harvested so it will be perfectly impedance matched.

We also carry covers and bonding lugs for use in pool water.

The number to call is BR-549.

Do you have dehydrated water available? I would rather not pay the shipping on 5 gallons of actual water.

I will have to remember to ask my customers about that. : -)

I know a guy in Az. that wired his home in #10 cu because the hardware store told him it would save energy. It probably did on heat losses, but can you imagine how difficult that would be?

Sign me up for some of that Michigan sand, the only sand around here is about 4" in diameter.

Sorry, the product is only guaranteed when used with hydrated, re-hydrated or mono-unhydrated water. Use with poly-unhydrated water not recommended as it may cause serious coolness or wetness if it comes into contact with skin.
