After retrofitting fl's to whatever, some builders will magically want some proof of legal disposal right before the last payment.. so beware.

It's a husband-and-wife-owned day-care center, and a contract can't be arbitrarily modified by one party.

Tubes should be recycled guys. Mercury is not good stuff.
I don't doubt the science and marvel that I'm still alive when I recall as kids we played with mercury, poring it in our palms, etc,
(also used to break-up asbestos blocks and mix them in water)
Lord works in mysterious ways :)

When we were little, we found out the Agway across the street stored old 8 foot tubes in the boxcar behind. We played Luke Skywalker with them 😯😳

Local landfill charges .16 cents a lineal foot, first 32 lineal feet free, I have 5 cases of FC16T10/CW/RS (40 watt circleline) lamps that need to go & think just going to have to pay for disposal. Scrapyard has a bin for ballasts, I keep finding more ballasts to get rid of.

Wasn't there something to do about the green ended lamps that had less/no mercury in em back in the day? Was a long time ago but I remember something about those being able to just thrown away. We were still using cfl's for energy savings at that time. So I'm a little outdated...

I can get 10 cents per pound for ballasts now, and I found a place that will take the tubes for 50 cents each.
Are you saying that they are paying you? Last time I had to check on disposing about 450 lights they would charge me about $1 each.

I wish! No that's the cost to me. I'll probably keep most of the good T-8 tubes and the T-8 ballasts.
Would you install used ballasts or lamps at a customer's business? Would you tell them? How would you charge for material?

I think it would be better to include your disposal cost to the job they were removed from.
