my wife and i were walking into dinner last night, and it was starting to
rain, and there was this guy sitting outside, on a bench, eating someones
leftovers.
not a tweeker, not a drunk, just someone without options, making the best
hand from the cards he was dealt. eating other peoples leftovers. not
panhandling, not stealing, just enduring.
we got our table, and i went back out and handed him some money,
enough for a meal and a room. he may spend it how he chooses. not
my business.
my christmas gift? i had the money to give, and i wasn't sitting on the
bench eating someone else's charity.
i've done both.
you cannot truly appreciate anything until you have experienced the
opposite, and know the difference. i have done that, and i am grateful
for the experience.
if it can be burned or stolen, it really doesn't matter half a s***.
merry christmas, everyone.

That is what it's all about. Nice to hear.
Cheers.
