Just bought a garage door sensor. When the door panel is horizontal, a signal is transmitted to a receiver inside the house. A flashing red LED tells me that the door is open. Steady green means it is closed.

I installed one of them about a year and a half ago. Great little invention. Nice to know that the door is actually opened or closed without walking outside.

I could use one of them in my truck ....I seem to get to the end of the block and then wonder "Did I close the door?" ...and around I go.

Just for fun, the talley so far, as to what red/green pilot lights mean;

----------- --------red--------------green-------
garage door-----door open "go"----door closed "stop"
motor control--switch open"stop"--switch closed'run"
switch board---switch closed------switch open-----
traffic light---------stop-------------go---------------

I would just like the garage.

Be careful what you wish for, I have two double-car garages, on a good day I can get one vehicle inside...If I push enough junk to the side.

When I built my house a few years ago I attached door magnet to the Security system so that I can look at any of the security panels when I am setting the alarm to tell me if the Garage door is open.

I don't know how many times at the old house I would get a call from the neighbors at all hours of the night telling me my garage door was open.

I need one of those devices only with a little alarm to tell me the door has opened. I have a weird situation where I know my garage door is closed when I go to bed at night and when I get up in the morning one of the doors will be open. I can't figure out what is causing them to open. It used to be just one side, now it happens with both doors.
