Well, that's going to suck. Is there a similar cable to SER that is allowed in both attics and underground that comes in #1 AL?

Type-TC tray cable meets all of your requirements. It's OK for use under the 2017 NEC in single family dwellings. What code cycle are you on?

Do a load calculation to show that 100 amps is not necessary. Then just use UF cable for the entire run.

I told the HO 60 amps would be more than enough but he insists on having 100 amps. I've purchased UF in large sizes before. It's amazingly expensive, usually is not in stock, and inconvenient for sleeving with pipe since it comes in a flat-pack.
