2008-Article 300.3(C)(2)(c)
Do you interpret the word enclosure to include raceway as mentioned in 300.3(C)(2) at beginning.

This pertains to motor space heater leads being routed in same cable tray as the power feeders. The power conductors are not energized when the space heater leads are.

I'm reading from the 2008 Code. It seems in the past this was allowed and it may have been earlier than 2005. I guess it could have been an owner allowed thing too.

Just curious,as I have this situation coming up but have a control(600) tray available, so no big thing if needed.

The very last sentence of this article pretty well sums it up and has the answer I need............the 600v heater leads would not be shielded

I thought that was what a forum was for ,,,Questions and Answers. My mistake, I won't ask anymore.

Not your mistake. I congratulate you on determining the answer to your own question. While it is said the only stupid question is the one not asked, we do get some pretty stupid ones asked around here. Yours is not one of them :)

Contributions in a manner suitable of a professional are sometimes lacking around here. So I implore you to not take it to an extreme. Please participate, regardless of others nonsensical conjecture.

Who's to judge which question is stupid and which one is not? Do we know the posters level of experience? I know that DIYers are pretty handley sniffed out by the Moderators on this site and very rightly so, but the poster my be a first year apprentice in search of futhering his/her knowledge in our feild.

This would be my only complaint with this forum is some times a poster is made to feel stupid even though they are just looking for answers

I apologize, I was only being a goof, I did not intend to be an a$$, but I am sorry if offended you... I have a bad case of dry humor. carry on.....

Thats fine guys ,I guess I may have over reacted on this matter but the question was bugging me and I was frustrated at the moment.

Yes forums are and have a way of bordering on sarcasm because things written are without emotion such that the reader and responder with out knowing the other oft times get on the wrong side of the fence........

I'm still struggling with the original question,,,,,,,

Nope.
Enclosure. The case or housing of apparatus, or the fence or walls surrounding an installation to prevent personnel from accidentally contacting energized parts or to protect the equipment from physical damage.
FPN: See Table 110.20 for examples of enclosure types.

Doesn't matter whether the question is stupid or not, or who deems it so... the point is: Answering OP questions, and subsequent elaborations, should project a professional attitude, IMO... or at least demonstrate an attempt

I agree with tring to answer an OP's question in a professional manner. As I posted earlier all the Op is looking for is an answer.
