When is light reduction required - IECC 2015

Where a space like a private office (with no daylight) has occupancy sensor controls that comply with 2015 IECC C405.2.1 is light reduction required? Since the space complies with C405.2.1.1 the time-switch control function of C405.2.2.1 is not required. C405.2.2.2 pertains to spaces required to have light reduction controls, but what are those spaces? Most of the discussion of requirements and exceptions is under C405.2.2.1 which does not apply to spaces with occupancy sensor control. Is it safe to assume C405.2.2.2 can be ignored if time-switch control is not required or implemented?

So since you are required to place some form of occupancy sensing device in the private office per C405.2.1, the function of that occupancy sensor, if AUTOMATIC on when someone enters the office, is to go to only 50% on. If you make the Occupancy Sensor function as a Vacancy Sensor, where you manually turn on the switch and auto off, then you're not required to have additional light reduction control measures.

When you look at C405.2.2.2, remember what section you're under as C405.2.2.2 is a subsection of C405.2.2 which is Time-switch controls. And under Time Switch controls, any area that has occupancy sensing controls, are not required to have additional measures of light reduction as read in the first paragraph of C405.2.2.

gad. you still are allowed A/B switching. you have pails of loopholes....

as frustrating as this might seem, i'm going to attach something from T24
to make you grateful for what you have.... this is for outside lighting.
