Which in any other forum would seem odd, here it just makes you a newbie. :D

Personally I only own one and carry it from place to place, but I am really cheap. :D
I have to buy my own and am also cheap. It travels a lot between the truck and my office.

Where do you get your code books?

I usually order my first one from the NEC before they come out locally.
I get the package code book and code book handbook at a 10% discount.
Then I usually buy one book from the supply house for my help.
I like having one in the truck and one at home.

I guess "I stole mine from the supply house" could have been an option also, but I doubt anyone would admit to it <jk> :D

Somebody did...

The City buys mine of course and we get them through the IAEI as they are usually a pretty good price.

Also the NFPA will usually put on a seminar for local inspectors on the updates and they give away a free one then. That way I have one in the office and one in my truck. I will also usually get an early printing of it so that I can start self training.

All in all I usually end up with three copies, office, truck, briefcase.

I usually buy the softbound as soon as it comes out and then the handbook as soon as it comes out. I leave the softbound at my desk and take my hanbook everywhere I go (including vacations)

I buy mine from whoever has the cheapest price.

I'm now in the market for a 08.

I usually keep the latest edition in my truck and the "newest" old one at my desk.....never owned two of the same year.

Sometime over the summer somebody made fun of me for not having the 2008 book yet by asking if I was waiting for the prices to come down.

I just bought one last month for $40 in near brand new condition.

So far I only have one on my computer in PDF. I got it for free at XXXXXXXXXXXXX.

I'm going to buy the handbook soon though.
