Saw this at a commercial site - is this legit? The site consisted of multiple service entrance conduits - 2 were surface mounted along the building (lower elevation than the top of the chimney) and the other 2 were through the chimney

I wonder if they derated the conductors on account of high ambient temperatures. 8)

I am suprised the inspector didn't have a problem with potential physical damage to the chimeny service conductors where they drop over the brick. Then again, I am having a bit of trouble judging just how close the wires come to the brick corner.
Yes, what about the conduit supports? And what would be the benefit of this install anyway? They couldn't put 2 more service masts on the wall?
Lastly, thanks, I have never seen this before.

Pierre,
230.24 only applies to the service drop conductors. It doesn't look like there is a problem with the sevice drop conductors.

Tony, I'm curious about how anybody could take that picture in broad daylight without there being any traffic on the street? I don't think you'll find that around here.

Larry:

The street ends at the corner where the building is located. The street generally connects two main roads (both 1 ways in opposite directions), though there is also another section that feeds in (back-ground of photo).

There was a fairly significant amount of traffice when I was there - I guess I just hit a lull in the action.
